The RICS Frequent Buyer feature enables retailers to track and analyze customer purchases tied to a frequent buyer program as they are transacted through the RICS POS. To assist a retailer with tracking and analyzing these transactions, RICS has several reports that display frequent buyer accumulation, issuance, redemption, and expiration.
This document is a resource for retailers to understand how to analyze frequent buyer performance via:
• Generate a Frequent Buyer Activity Report
• Generate a Customer Accumulation Report
• Generate an Expiring Rewards Report
GENERATE A FREQUENT BUYER ACTIVITY REPORT
The Frequent Buyer Activity report enables retailers to analyze frequent buyer transactions as they are transacted through the RICS POS to identify accumulation, issuance, redemption and expiration. To generate a Frequent Buyer Activity report:
1. In the RICS Back Office, go to Reporting :: Report Creator
2. Type Frequent Buyer Activity in the search box or navigate to Frequent Buyer :: Frequent Buyer Activity in the menu
FILE OPTIONS
1. Use the File Type dropdown menu to determine the output format
Note: If choosing CSV, use the Advanced Options dropdown to set a Field Delimiter.
2. As needed, enter a report description in the Report Name field
Note: Report descriptions will display in the Report Manager screen.
3. As needed, enter a valid email address in the Email A Copy To field to email the report
REPORT OPTIONS
1. Use the scroll bar to navigate to the Report Options section
2. Use the Sales Period dropdown menu to determine what sales period to analyze
REPORT CRITERIA
1. After selecting the report options, use the scroll bar to navigate to the Report Criteria section
Note: To report on all frequent buyer activity based on the period selected in the Report Options section, proceed to step 3. To report on specific activity, proceed to the Additional Customer Criteria section.
2. Enter the necessary criteria to determine what frequent buyer activity to output
Report Criteria Options:
By Store – Enter or search for a store(s) to determine what customer activity to output.
By Store State – Enter a store(s) state to determine what customer activity to output.
Note: Multiple options can be selected to narrow down a search. If selecting multiple stores or store states, separate the values by commas.
3. Click Run
ADDITIONAL CUSTOMER CRITERIA
1. After selecting the report criteria options, use the scroll bar to navigate to the Additional Customer Criteria section
Note: To report on all frequent buyer activity based on the Report Options and Report Criteria, leave the Additional Customer Criteria fields blank or unselected and proceed to Step 4.
2. Enter the frequent buyer plan name and select the filter activity options to determine what transactions to display
How Would You Like to Filter Activity Options:
Rewards earned – Select to filter rewards earned at the RICS POS.
Rewards expired – Select to filter rewards by expiration.
Rewards redeemed – Select to filter rewards redeemed at the RICS POS.
Purchases toward Rewards – Select to filter accumulation towards a reward at the RICS POS.
Adjustments – Select to filter adjustments made via the RICS Back Office Manage Customer screen.
Voids – Select to filter transactions voided within the RICS Back Office.
Plan Changes – Select to filter plan changes made via the RICS Back Office Manage Frequent Buyer screen.
Initial Load – Select to filter accumulation and rewards imported through the RICS Back Office.
4. Click Run
GENERATE A FB CUSTOMER ACCUMULATION REPORT
The Customer Accumulation report enables retailers to analyze transactions as they occur through the RICS POS to identify accumulation for a plan.
1. In the RICS Back Office, go to Reporting :: Report Creator
2. Type FB Customer Accumulation in the search box or navigate to Frequent Buyer :: FB Customer Accumulation in the menu
FILE OPTIONS
1. Use the File Type dropdown menu to determine the output format
Note: If choosing CSV, use the Advanced Options dropdown to set a Field Delimiter.
2. As needed, enter a report description in the Report Name field
Note: Report descriptions will display in the Report Manager screen.
3. As needed, enter a valid email address in the Email A Copy To field to email the report

Report Criteria Options:
Customers – Enter or search for a customer account number(s) to select which customer(s) to output.
By Customer City – Enter a customer city or cities to select which customer(s) to output.
By Customer State – Enter a customer state(s) to select which customer(s) to output.
By Customer Zip – Enter a customer zip code(s) to select which customer(s) to output.
Customer Custom Entries – If set up within the store, enter a custom entry or entries to determine which customer(s) to output.
Note: Multiple options can be selected to narrow down a search. If selecting multiple Stores, States, Customers, Customer Cities, Customer States or Customer Zip codes, separate the values by commas. To exclude the selected value(s), select the checkbox next to Exc. To select a consecutive group of zip codes, enter two dashes (--) in between the first and last zip code. Example: To analyze all customers with a zip code between 46201 and 46212, enter 46201—46212.
3. Click Run
ADDITIONAL CUSTOMER CRITERIA
1. After selecting the report criteria, use the scroll bar to navigate to the Addition Customer Criteria section
2. Enter a frequent buyer plan(s) name in the Plan field to determine what plan to display
Note: Multiple options can be selected to narrow down a search. If selecting multiple Plans, separate the values by commas.
3. Click Run
GENERATE AN EXPIRING REWARDS REPORT
The Expiring Rewards report enables retailers to analyze and identify customers with a previous or upcoming reward set to expire during a selected period of time. To generate an Expiring Rewards report:
1. In the RICS Back Office, go to Reporting :: Report Creator
2. Type FB Expiring Rewards in the search box or navigate to Frequent Buyer :: FB Expiring Rewards in the menu

1. Use the File Type dropdown menu to determine the output format
Note: If choosing CSV, use the Advanced Options dropdown to set a Field Delimiter.
2. As needed, enter a report description in the Report Name field
