The Manage Classes feature enables retailers to create a hierarchical structure for product to analyze sales and inventory transactions as they occur through the RICS Back Office and the RICS POS.
This document is a resource for retailers to understand how to:
• Create a Class
• Edit a Class
• Delete a Class
CREATE A CLASS
Follow the steps below to create a hierarchical structure with classes and sub-classes to group product data.
CLASS
1. In the RICS Back Office, go to Setup :: Manage Classes
2. Enter the name of the class in the Enter Value field
3. Click Add
Note: Top level classes will be added below the organization’s name in the class hierarchical structure, but will not be saved until Step 4.
4. Click Save
SUB-CLASS
1. In the RICS Back Office, go to Setup :: Manage Classes
2. Locate and select the class in which to add a sub-class underneath
Note: After the class is selected, the class will display next to “Value will be added below”.
3. Enter the name of the sub-class in the Enter Value field
4. Click Add
Note: The sub-class will be added below the class in the class hierarchical structure, but will not save until Step 5.
5. Click Save
EDIT A CLASS
Follow the steps below to edit a name or order of a class or sub-class within a class hierarchical structure.
RENAME
1. In the RICS Back Office, go to Setup :: Manage Classes
2. Locate and select the class or sub-class value to be renamed
Note: After a class or sub-class is selected, the class or sub-class name will display next to Rename Value field.
3. Enter the updated name in the Rename Value field
4. Click Rename
Note: The updated name will replace the original class or sub-class name, but will not save until Step 5.
5. Click Save
REORDER
1. In the RICS Back Office, go to Setup :: Manage Classes
2. Locate and select the class or sub-class value to be reordered
Note: After the class or sub-class is selected, the class or sub-class will be highlighted.
3. Click the up or down arrows to reorder the class or sub-class
Note: The reordered class or sub-class will not be saved until Step 4.
4. Click Save
DELETE A CLASS
Follow the steps below to delete a class or sub-class created within a class hierarchical structure.
1. In the RICS Back Office, go to Setup :: Manage Classes
2. Locate and select the class or sub-class value to be deleted
Note: After the class or sub-class is selected, the class or sub-class will be highlighted.
3. Click the to delete the class or sub-class
Note: To delete a class or sub-class, all items must be removed from the class or sub-class.
4. Click Yes when prompted to delete the class
Note: The deleted class or sub-class will not be removed until Step 5.
5. Click Save
