How to Create Labels

The Enter and Print Stock Labels feature enables retailers to print labels for items with or without an on hand quantity.


PREREQUISITE
Prior to entering and printing stock labels, please ensure RICS Link is installed on the computer printing labels.

ENTER STOCK LABELS
Follow the steps below to create labels based on received quantities, on hand, on order, etc.

1. In the RICS Back Office, go to Inventory :: Labels :: Enter Stock Labels at the store level

2. Use the Label Selection Method dropdown menu to determine the method with which to print labels:

Selected SKUs, one label for each item on hand – A label will be printed for each quantity on hand for the entered SKU

• To select a SKU, enter or search for a SKU in the SKU field

• After the SKU is selected, the on-hand quantities will auto-populate. Adjust the quantities to the amount of labels you wish to print for those sizes.

Selected SKUs, user enters what labels to print – A label will be printed for a selected item’s entered quantities

• To select a SKU, enter or search for a SKU in the SKU field

• After the SKU is selected, enter the quantity under the column and or row to print a label

Purchase Order SKUs, one label for each item on the PO – A label will be printed for all items on a PO based on selected criteria

Options:

By Supplier – Enter or search for a supplier code(s) to select which supplier(s) to print labels.

By Class – From the dropdown menu, select a class or classes to select which class to print labels.

By Color – Enter a color(s) to select which color(s) to print labels.

By SKU – Enter or search for an item(s) to select which item(s) to print labels.

Product Custom Entries – If setup within your store, enter a custom entry or entries to determine which custom entry to print labels.

By PO# - Enter or search for a Purchase Order Number(s) to select which PO to print labels.

Note: If selecting multiple Suppliers, Colors, SKUs, Product Custom Entries, or PO’s, separate the values by commas. If wanting to exclude the selected value(s), select the checkbox next to Exc.

All SKUs, one label for each item on hand – A label will be printed for all items On Hand based on selected criteria

Options:

By Supplier – Enter or search for a supplier code(s) to select which supplier(s) to print labels.

By Class – From the dropdown menu, select a class or classes to select which class to print labels.

By Color – Enter a color(s) to select which color(s) to print labels.

By SKU – Enter or search for an item(s) to select which item(s) to print labels.

Product Custom Entries – If setup within your store, enter a custom entry or entries to determine which custom entry to print labels.

Display label, one label per SKU – A single display label will be printed for all items based on selected criteria

Options:

By Supplier – Enter or search for a supplier code(s) to select which supplier(s) to print labels.

By Class – From the drop down menu, select a class or classes to select which class to print labels.

By Color – Enter a color(s) to select which color(s) to print labels.

By SKU – Enter or search for an item(s) to select which item(s) to print labels.

Product Custom Entries – If setup within your store, enter a custom entry or entries to determine which custom entry to print labels.

Note: If selecting multiple Suppliers, Colors, SKUs, or Product Custom Entries, separate the values by commas. If wanting to exclude the selected value(s), select the check box next to Exc.

3. Select or enter the Options field to determine what labels to print

Note: The Options field may not be available for all Label Selection Methods.

Purchase Order SKUs, one label for each item on the PO – A label will be printed for all items on a PO based on selected criteria in Step 2:

Options:

Only Print Labels for items on Order – Print a label for all items on a PO

Only Print Labels for items Received – Print a label for all items received on a PO

All SKUs, one label for each item on hand – A label will be printed for all items On Hand based on selected criteria determined in Step 2:

Options:

Date Last Received from – Print a label for all items within entered dates based on last received

Date Last Markdown from – Print a label for all items within entered dates having a markdown

SKU Pricing Options

All SKUs – Print a label for all items determined in Step 2, regardless of price

Retail Only – Print a label for all items determined in Step 2, with no Markdown Price

Markdown Only – Print a label for all items determined in Step 2, with a Markdown Price

Display label, one label per SKU – A label will be printed for all items based on selected criteria determined in Step 2

SKU Pricing Options

All SKUs – Print a label for all items determined in Step 2, regardless of price

Retail Only – Print a label for all items determined in Step 2, with no Markdown Price

Markdown Only – Print a label for all items determined in Step 2, with a Markdown Price

4. Click Save, and repeat Steps 2 & 3 to select additional items to print labels for

Note: To delete stock labels entered prior to printing, click Stock Labels Entered:

• Select the checkbox next to the item(s) you would like to delete

• Click Delete Selected Labels

5. Click Save & Print Labels when you are ready to print labels

 


PRINT STOCK LABELS
Follow the steps below to print entered stock labels based on received quantities, on hand, on order, etc.

1. In the RICS Back Office, go to Inventory :: Labels :: Print Stock Labels at the store level

Note: If the computer printing labels does not have RICS Link installed, please do so now before proceeding.

2. Use the Printer dropdown menu to determine the printer in which to print labels

Note: RICS will default to this printer the next time labels are printed. If previously printed labels need to be reprinted or restored, select one of the options below:

Restore Labels – Restores last set of labels printed by current user logged into RICS.

Re-Print Labels – Reprints last set of labels printed by current user logged into RICS.

3. Use the Printing Format section to determine how to print labels

Options:

Printer Type – Use the dropdown menu to select the type of printer you have (I.E. Laser/Inkjet/Zebra). Selection will determine templates available and additional options for printing format.

Label Template – Use the dropdown menu to determine the template to print labels. Template options will vary based on Printer Type selected.

Show All Labels – Select this option to display all labels available to print if Label Type entered for an item in Setup :: Manage SKUs does not match the selected template or labels are not appearing to be printed.

Print Date – Select this option to display a 4-digit date code detailing when the label was printed. Code will display using a 2-digit year and month format. Example 1607 informs user label was printed July of 2016.

Print Store Name – Select this option to display the store name when a label is printed as entered in Setup :: Manage Store :: Store Setup.

Only Use RICS Generated UPCs – Select this option to print labels with a new or existing RICS generated UPC that is not a manufacture UPC.

Price to Print – Use the dropdown menu to determine the price to print on a label. Selecting “Active Selling Price” will print the current price for an item as set in Setup :: Manage SKUs. Selecting “No Price” will not print a price on a label.

Print Store Number Label – Select this option to print a label displaying just the store number.

Allow Partial First Page – Only available when Printer Type is set to Laser/Inkjet. Select this option to begin printing labels within a label sheet and not at the first. Enter a “Starting Column” to determine the column a label will start printing. Enter a “Starting Row” to determine the row a label will start printing.

4. Select the Check/Uncheck All checkbox to print all labels within the label selection area

5. To print only a selected group of labels, select the checkbox next to each label to print

6. Click Print

Note: If there are labels to delete in the label selection area, select the checkbox next to each label you wish to delete, then click Delete Selected Labels.
