OVERVIEW

The RICS>mPOS provides retailers the ability to sell, redeem, and check the current balance of RICS stored value gift cards; this includes existing cards created using the RICS>POS and Back Office.

Note: Retailers that use an integrated gift card partner must still use the RICS>POS to sell, redeem, and check balances.  

This document is a resource for retailers to:

• Check a gift card balance
• Sell a gift card
• Redeem a gift card

Check a gift card balance

If a customer is unable to remember the value of a gift card they possess, they may request a cashier check its available balance.  Follow the steps below to check a gift card balance using the RICS>mPOS.

1. Tap the Gift Card icon in the navigation menu; left of page

 

2. Tap ‘Check Gift Card Balance’

 

3. Enter the gift card number; click ‘I’m Done’

 

Note: The gift card balance should now be displayed.

 

4. Tab ‘Dismiss’

 

 

Sell A gift card

Use the process below to sell a gift card using the RICS>mPOS.

1. Tap the Gift Card icon in the navigation menu; left of page

 

2. Tap ‘Sell a Gift Card

 

3. Enter the gift card number; click ‘I’m Done’

 

4. Enter the gift card amount; click ‘Done’

 

Note: The gift card should now be listed in the Shopping Cart.

 

5. Tap a payment method

 

6. Tap ‘Finish Sale’

 

Note: Receipts containing a gift card sale will include a section displaying the available balance and a barcode that can be used for redemption.

 

 

 

Redeem a gift card

Use the process below to redeem a gift card using the RICS>mPOS.

1. Once an item has been added to the Shopping Cart, tap ‘Gift Card’

 

2. Enter the gift card number; click ‘I’m Done’

 

3. Tap ‘Apply Full Balance’

 

Note: If a customer wishes to apply a portion of the available balance, tap ‘Apply Specific Amount’ to enter the requested amount.

 

4. The gift card will now show as a payment method
