The customer profile in the RICS>mPOS is used to capture customer data.
This article is a guide to help retailers:
- Add a New Customer to the Shopping Cart
- Modify a Customer in the Shopping Cart

Add a New Customer to the Shopping Cart
Follow the steps below to create a new customer profile inside the RICS>mPOS shopping cart:
- Login to the RICS>mPOS
- Tap ‘Tap to choose or add a Customer…’
- Tap ‘Add New Customer’
- Enter customer profile information; available fields include:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email Address
- Phone Number
- Birthday
- Notes
- Tax Exempt ID
- Gender
- Shipping Address
- Billing Address
- Tap ‘Add a Customer’
- See customer added to the shopping cart
Note: If a retailer’s frequent buyer program is set to auto-enroll new customers, the customer profile will contain a heart icon indicating they are enrolled in a frequent buyer program.
Modify a Customer in the Shopping Cart
Follow the steps below to modify a customer profile inside the RICS>mPOS shopping cart:
- Login to the RICS>mPOS
- Tap ‘Tap to choose or add a Customer…’
- Type the customer’s name, email, or phone number into the search field
- Swipe left on the appropriate customer profile to reveal the ‘Edit’ button; tap ‘Edit’
- Make any needed modifications to the available fields
- Tap ‘Update Customer’
- See customer added to the shopping cart
Add a New Customer Outside of the Shopping Cart
Follow the steps below to create a new customer profile outside the RICS>mPOS shopping cart:
- Login to the RICS>mPOS
- Tap the customer management icon
- Tap ‘+ Add a New Customer…’
- Enter customer profile information; available fields include:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email Address
- Phone Number
- Birthday
- Notes
- Tax Exempt ID
- Gender
- Shipping Address
- Billing Address
- Tap ‘Add Customer’
- See newly created customer profile
Modify a Customer Outside of the Shopping Cart
Follow the steps below to modify a customer profile outside the RICS>mPOS shopping cart:
- Login to the RICS>mPOS
- Tap the customer management icon
- Type the customer’s name, email, or phone number into the search field
- Tap the appropriate customer profile
- Tap ‘Update Profile’
- Make any needed modifications to the available fields
- Tap ‘Update Customer’
