RICS>Pay customers have the option to select from several different pin pad terminals to use in their stores. The purpose of this guide is to show how to install the Ingenico Lane 3000 and troubleshoot common installation issues. This setup guide can also be used to install the Ingenico Lane 5000 and 7000.
1. Open the box containing the pin pad terminal and remove all hardware (3 Pieces)
1) Pin Pad Terminal, 2) Power/Ethernet Cable, 3) Power Cord
2. Turn the Pin Pad Terminal over (back side facing up)
3. Plug the Power/Ethernet Cable into the open port in the back of the Pin Pad Terminal until secure; flip terminal over (front side facing up)
4. Plug the Ethernet Cable into a router, network switch, or modem with a live ethernet port
5. Connect the barrel pin on the Power Cord to the Power/Ethernet Cable
6. Plug the Power Cord into an available wall outlet or power strip
Note: Once powered up, the terminal will begin the boot-up process which may take up to 3 minutes.
8. Stop and contact RICS Support when the pin pad screen displays an activation code
Troubleshooting the Lane 3000 terminal
If a pin pad terminal is unable to establish a network connection you may not receive an activation code. If this occurs, please follow the steps below:
1. Press 0-0-0-1 on the terminal's keypad
Note: If the Admin Mode screen opens, the terminal is not connected to a network
2. Unplug the Power Cord and Ethernet Cable from the wall outlet and modem
3. Wait 10-15 seconds
4. Reconnect the Ethernet Cable, followed by the Power Cord
5. Wait for the terminal to boot up and display an activation code
If the steps above were not successful, continue below:
1. Locate the network device the terminal is plugged into (network switch, router, modem)
2. Locate where the Ethernet Cable is plugged in and make sure the device is displaying a green light to signal an active port
3. If the device is not displaying a green light, turn it off, wait 10-15 seconds, then turn it back on
4. Once the display light is green, unplug the Power Cord for the Pin Pad Terminal from the wall outlet, wait 10-15 seconds, then plug it back in
5. Wait for the terminal to boot up and display an activation code
If the steps above were not successful, continue below:
If a terminal is still not displaying an activation code, it is possible a router firewall or other network firewall are preventing the terminal from connecting with the cloud host. If this occurs, please follow the steps below:
1. Navigate to computer or router firewall software; may require assistance from a network administrator or internet service provider
2. Allow outbound https port 443 traffic to tripos.vantiv.com
3. Allow TCP/IP traffic to port 9001 of device.tripos.vantiv.com
4. Unplug the Power Cord for the Pin Pad Terminal, wait 10-15 seconds, then plug it back in
