How to Print Stock Labels

MANAGE USERS

When users access the Manage Labels page for the first time, they will need to verify their email address and provide their back office password. It is crucial that each user has a distinct email address registered on the Manage Users page before utilizing this feature.

Refer to our guide on How To Manage Employees (Users) for detailed steps on editing a user and assigning a unique email to each individual.

INSTALL ZEBRA BROWSER PRINT

Zebra Browser Print is a tool that allows users to print labels and documents directly from web-based applications. This application is required in order to print labels using a supported Zebra printer. Stores using a Laser/Inkjet printer for labels are not required to install this application.

Follow the instructions below to download and install Zebra Browser Print.

1. Click the link below to download Zebra Browser Print.

2. In the Downloads section of your browser, click the zebra-browser-print-windows file.

3. When prompted, "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?", click Yes.

4. Confirm the file destination location is correct then click Next.

9. Click the Hidden Icons symbol at the lower right of your screen.

10. Right click on the Zebra Browser icon.

11. Click Settings. 

12. Notice the connected printer is listed in the Default Devices. It will be assigned an alphanumeric printer name. (If you do not see your printer listed, turn it off by pressing the power button on the top of the printer, then turn it back on.  If you still do not see your printer listed, contact RICS Support.)

Note: Zebra Browser Print is compatible with the ZD411-203DPI and the Zebra TLP2824+ printers.

 

PRINTING LABELS

The Enter Labels and Print Stock Labels features enable retailers to print labels for items with or without an on-hand quantity.

ENTER STOCK LABELS

Follow the steps in our How to Create Labels article to create labels based on received quantities, on hand, on order, etc.

Note: Quantities entered into the Enter Stock Labels page will not affect the on-hand quantities for those items.

PRINT STOCK LABELS

Users are able to print labels by navigating directly to the Print Stock Labels page, by clicking ‘Save & Print Labels’ at the bottom of the Enter Stock Labels and Receive Stock without PO pages, or by clicking ‘Receive & Print Labels’ when receiving against a purchase order.

Follow the steps below to print stock labels:

1. Navigate to Inventory :: Labels :: Print Stock Labels

2. Click ‘Yes’ under the alert that a new version of the print labels page is available. (Users will only see this alert the first time they navigate to the new print labels page.) A screenshot of a computer

3. In the pop-up window, verify your correct email address is displayed, then enter your Back Office password

4. Click “Go” to navigate to the new Manage Labels page

6. Select the labels you wish to print

Note: The print quantity can be adjusted on this page.

7. Select your desired template

9. Click Print Labels

Note: When Laser/Inkjet is selected, a PDF is generated and downloaded in the browser. Users should open this file to print labels to their desired printer.

GENERATING UPCS

If a label is selected for an item that does not have a UPC in RICS, after clicking ‘Print Labels’ users will have the option to let RICS generate a UPC for that item or print the label(s) without a UPC.

  1. Select your SKUs, Template, and Printer as usual, and click ‘Print Labels’. 
  2. Select ‘Generate & Print’ to print RICS Generated UPCs onto your labels

FAQ

Q: Will this feature work on Windows 11?

A: Yes!

 

Q: Do I need a new printer to use this feature?

A: No. This feature works with the Zebra TLP 2824+, Zebra ZD411, and any Laser or Inkjet printer.

 

Q: Does this feature require RICS Link?

A: No. This feature no longer requires RICS Link

 

Q: I don’t see the label template I normally use. Can the Support Team make one for me?

A: This version of the Manage Labels page utilizes preset label templates.  These templates were created to provide a modern label style across multiple label sizes. 

 

Q: A pop-up keeps asking for my password, and I keep clicking Cancel to go back to the Print Stock Labels page, but I’m taken back Home. How do I go to Print Stock Labels?

A: After a user clicks ‘Yes’ to use the new labels page, the former labels page will no longer be available.  Entering your Back Office password will move you to the new Manage Labels page.

 

Q: How do I search for a specific SKU to print?

A: If you have many labels in your print queue, you may need to continuously scroll down to view all labels.  If you can’t find the label you’re looking for, you can press CTRL + F on your keyboard to open the Find tool in your browser and search by SKU.

 

Q: What are the dimensions of the available label templates?

A: The available label templates are as follows:
Laser/Inkjet: Utilizes the Avery 5160 template. This prints 30 labels per page at 2-5/8" x 1" each.
Regular: 2.25" x 1.25"

Small: 1.25" x 1.00"

Jewelry: 2.20" x 0.5"

Hang Tags: 2.25" x 1.25"
The Regular, Small, Jewelry, and Hang Tags can be purchased on Shop-RICS, or your preferred office/retail supply store.
